Peanut Butter Cravings

Info: Vanilla Cupcake Base with Peanut Butter Mousse drizzled with dark chocolate!

Now, peanut butter has not always been my favorite flavor, be it on scrumptious waffles or in chocolate bars. When I was a kid, I would actually SEPARATE the grape jelly from the peanut butter in Smucker's Goober (obviously, I was only after the grape jelly). I have never liked food that is so thick and sticky that it gets stuck on the roof of my mouth and that includes the famous Kuih Mor. I suppose I feel kind of suffocated. Hehe.. I can be quite the drama queen. :S

Anyway, a few nights ago, around midnight, I had this redonkulous craving for peanut butter!! And I mean REDONKOLOUS! I could NOT sleep!! I could taste and smell peanut butter in my mind. And the ghost of Snickers bar was floating around my head, taunting me. I tried to go to sleep to quell the insane craving but around 1am, I ran downstairs to raid the fridge, trying to look for something peanut buttery (we don't usually have peanut butter in the house as I am the only toast fan and I only take my toast with jam and butter). I contemplated on a Toblerone, but the pricey chocolate bar was no match for a small, cheap bar of Cloud 9 (which was absent, by the way). Alas, I walked heavyfooted back to the cold, cold bed, trying not to think about Peanut Butter.

So, the very next day, I came up with "Peanut Butter Cravings" which is essentially vanilla cupcakes topped with a swirl of peanut butter mousse with a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.... absolute heaven. I recommend non-peanut butter lovers to try these babies. It's not sticky or too thick. The amount of peanut butter is just right in these cupcakes. :D I shall forever love peanut butter!! Peanut butter mousse is, by the way, GORGEOUS. I never thought I could LOVE peanut butter this much!! I am thinking of making more desserts with peanut butter!

Tangy Rose Cupcakes

I wish I could find edible fresh flowers here but the roses sold in shops are, well, covered in all sorts of scary chemicals that I refuse to subject my(or your) stomach to. So, here are my rosewater cupcakes sans rose petals deco (bo-ring!). I wish I made these for the engagement I previously mentioned. They are so delicate and elegant! I suppose I'm biased. Pink is my favorite color hehehe. Well, I love white too. I drive my friends crazy picking out pink-colored clothes (ONLY) when out shopping hahahha!!

Anyway, I really recommend these for mid-morning munch with your coffee or for your mid-afternoon break. Why mid-morning/afternoon and not breakfast or tea-time? I suppose the zing in these cupcakes might give a boost to your energy (or subtle jolt to your senses), basically, to WAKE YOU UP hehehe... Either way, energized or need to recharge, these tangy babies are wonderful!!! I just finished four of these! I must say, this one's my favorite!






I swear, the cupcakes above look like they are peeking at you. No? Maybe it's just me talking crazy haha!

Cotton Candy Cupcakes

Hi everybody! :D Just reading the title gives you sugar-rush, doesn't it? Hehehe... These cupcakes are just so.... dreamy! They are like mini carnivals! These are just tricky to decorate because the cotton candy garnish melts so quickly into the cotton candy frosting! YES. The frosting is cotton candy as well! xD Nonetheless, it doesn't affect the taste of the cupake. Therefore, please note that the cotton candy garnish will be packed separately for self-decorating to avoid the finished products from looking like this :( Sad looking cupcakes are not fun at all.

I Heart You Cupcakes

Hi all! :D

This was my first time making cupcakes as a token of congratulations on an engagement. I suggested an all white cupcake with glace frosting but my sister (who requested the cupcakes) thought it was too formal and wedding-day-ish. So, I thought more on the line of Valentine's Day theme. I am happy to report that the blushing newly-engaged didn't LIKE the cupcakes, but she LOVED it! :D YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (or PHEW, more like it! hehehe!)




PS I wish I produced more formal looking cupcakes instead of Tea Party Cupcakes. This is why you shouldn't order at the last minute!! :S Please place your order AT LEAST one day early (which I still discourage because I might not be able to meet the deadline or even make the specified cupcakes :( )

an afternoon in the kitchen

Hey everyone!

Apart from being delicious and too cute to eat, cupcakes are also fun to make especially with the girlfriends. If we were five, we'd have plastic tea sets too! But we're all in our twennies so we had REAL gorgeous home made hot chocolate, complete with whipped cream, chocolate dusting and mini marshmallows on top. MM-MM-MM!! Thank you for a lovely day girls! :D

Their decorating skills were soooooo much better and more creative than mine! Thanks for giving the ideas! :D

Birthday Cupcakes

Hello everyone! I hope you're enjoying the photos so far. :D I love making birthday cupcakes especially the pink ones! Hehe! They're soooo girly! Especially with silver buttons! Hehe.. but I'm also looking forward to requests to make frostings in other colors like blue and green.. I think it'll be quite a challenge for someone who can colour coordinate pink and white only! Hehe!

Anyhow, brief details on Birthday Cupcakes:
